The To-Do List

At the end of the day, I wondered if I had accomplished anything at all.

I would look at my “to-do” list and hate the absence of checks on it.

I wasn’t getting anything important accomplished.

And, I like, no love, a completed list.

Then I had an epiphany.

I wasn’t putting the most important task on my list for the day.

I wasn’t including the one thing that was taking all of my time.

The next day, when I made my list, I added “Love my children” at the top.

Everything changed for me.

The list changed.

The pressure changed.

I suddenly understood that if I could check off that first item, I was accomplishing something, the most important something.

It was that simple.

  1. Thank you for the reminder that children are the most important item on our to do list. I love it.
